create
impressive presentations. Special effects and vector graphics
tools enable you to create stunning animations and sound effects,
graphics tools include flow chart- style shapes, and an AutoPilot
steps you through the process of creating Web-based slide
shows. With the predefined presentation layouts, you can focus
on your message, instead of on the visual details or looks
of your presentation the program takes care of that for
you. Whether you want to take your message on the road or
deliver it as a Webcast, rely on StarOffice Impress 5.2 software

New and enhanced features
include:
- NEW
StarOffice Player: Deliver your presentation on the Web
or take it on the road. The standalone StarOffice Player makes
it easy to deliver StarOffice Impress presentations anywhere,
anytime, on any system, without installing the entire StarOffice
suite. The size of the StarOffice Player installation file is
less than seven megabytes (including setup); the installation
itself requires approximately 14 Mbytes of hard drive space.
- NEW
saving options for presentations: Now you can save your
StarOffice presentation as a compressed version for easy transport.
Using the Compress command on the File menu, you may save a compressed
version of the current presentation (the extension for compressed
files is *.sdp), including sound files, animations, transitions,
and OLE objects (which are stored as a preview graphic in the
document). When saving a compressed version of a presentation,
there are two options:
* Remove links: Use this option if you want to embed objects
that are linked to the presentation document (such as external
graphic files) in the new document. Otherwise, the corresponding
graphic files are saved in the usual SDP format
* Split file to several media: If the size of the compressed
SDP file is larger than the storage medium (for example, a 1.44
Mbytes disk, the program will automatically split the file into
separate files that can be stored individually on multiple disks
- NEW
Webcast option: Delivering presentations over the Web has
never been easier. In addition to exporting presentations to standard
HTML or HTML with frames, you may also save them as Automatic
or WebCast publication types using HTML and Perl or ActiveServer
(ASP) scripts. When exporting a presentation as an Automatic publication
type, you may specify the Browser viewing time for each slide
or adopt the settings in the current presentation. Additionally,
you have the option to export sounds when the slide advances.
When exporting a presentation to be delivered as a Webcast, the
program gives you the choice of ASP or Perl scripting.
- Improved import
and export filters for Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000 documents:
